Function / Content

This series consists of completed data diagrams and maps of Northern Territory pastoral leases. Each sheet contains the following information: name of pastoral leases, pastoral/permit number, application number, mineral claims number, size of lease, location of lease, surrounding block numbers with some having location of water resources and references to other pages. The diagrams/maps vary from highly detailed to hand drawn with just the size of claim, number, name and compass direction of north or south. Each page has a number of diagrams/maps pasted onto them and each diagram has its own scale written, in miles to an inch, mainly 8 miles to an inch.

Recordkeeping System

Numerical by old volume and folio number. Map ID refers to number DLPE put on the maps for digitation purpose.
